During the period from Jun. 24, 1991 to Aug. 31, 1991, we experienced 6 cases of non-typhoidal salmonella and 18 cases with symptoms suggesting salmonellosis.
The results obtained were as follows;
1) Mean age on admission was 9¡¾6 days and mean body weight was 3.3¡¾0.3kg. All cases were fullterm neonate.

Intussusception is the most common cause of acquired intestinal obstruction during infancy and early childhood and requires early diagnosis and treatment.
We observed 431 cases of intussusception who admitted at Chungang Gil Hospital from January 1987 to June 1991, and compared the result of treatment with Barium Enema in 302 cases with that of Air Enema in 129 cases.

Newborn premature babies have low levels of transplacentally acquired maternal immunoglobulin which is mostly transferred after 32∼34weeks gestation, therefore they may have IgG deficiencies that incerase their susceptibillity to bacterial infection.
We preformed this study to determine whether intravenous immunoglobulin (IVIG) therapy improves mortality or infection occurrence rate.
